Overview

Solomon Learning Group is a Hong Kong-based social enterprise promoting financial literacy for students. As a marketing and design intern last summer, I got to work closely with the founders on various impactful education initiatives at schools, summer programs, and exhibitions!

01. "Little Boss" Merchandise

Brief

I redesigned the prizes for Solomon's elementary school event "Little Boss", a game in which students could earn money from "working" and "investing". When the game ends, students can spend the money on prizes like pencils, stickers, and notebooks; however, I noticed that the students were generally uninterested in the existing prizes and lacked motivation for the game.

From speaking to students, I realized they were uninterested in the existing prizes as they didn't find them appealing or functional, and didn't connect with the mascots. WIth a focus on functionality, visual cohesion, and embracing a mascot more appealing to kids, I aimed to design stationery and accessories that children would want to win and use.

Outcomes

Below is some of my work completed for this project. From lanyards to rulers to grocery bags, I incorporated vibrant and playful elements into functional items. I prepared production-ready files to send to manufacturers for each item, and began producing the keychains towards the end of my internship.
